About this podcast encoder
Podcast hosts (Buzzsprout, Libsyn, Anchor, Captivate, etc.) re-encode whatever you upload to a uniform format anyway — usually mono 64 or 96 kbps for spoken-word, 128 kbps stereo for music shows. This tool produces that file ahead of time so you know exactly what listeners are getting and the upload is faster.
Drop in your edited episode, set the title / artist / episode-number tags, and download a podcast-ready MP3.

Podcast encoder FAQ
Mono or stereo?
Solo / interview podcasts ship mono — half the size, no perceptible quality loss for speech. Use stereo only when the show is genuinely stereophonic (binaural, music coverage, audio drama).
Why 96 kbps?
It's the AES-recommended bitrate for spoken-word podcasts. 64 kbps is acceptable but starts to sound rough on consonants; 128 kbps is overkill for mono voice.
Do I still need to master loudness?
Yes — use the Podcast Loudness tool first to hit -16 LUFS (mono) or -19 LUFS (stereo), then encode here.
Will my podcast host re-encode again?
Some hosts re-encode regardless to enforce house style. The audio quality survives a 96 kbps → 96 kbps re-encode cleanly.
